Cleaning work with no lead fees, no bidding, and nothing taken off your rate
Bark and Checkatrade sell you credits and make you fight five other cleaners for one job. We don’t sell leads — we send you the job. Customers near your postcode are matched to you. £17/hr, paid in full, straight to your bank every Monday.

Before you apply
What you’ll need
We’d rather you knew all of this now than after you’ve filled in a form. To take work through ReadyClean you need the following in place — not necessarily today, but before your first clean.
- Your own transport
- Reliable transport to reach homes across the radius you choose.
- Your own equipment and products
- We tell customers their cleaner brings professional-grade, eco-friendly products and equipment — so that part is on you, and it isn’t optional.
- Public liability insurance
- Valid cover for cleaning work, minimum £2,000,000. Don’t have it yet? Apply anyway and we’ll show you where to get it.
- A DBS certificate
- Every ReadyClean cleaner is DBS checked. It’s how customers let a stranger into their home. Again — apply first, we’ll help you get one.
- Self-employed status
- You work for yourself. You’re responsible for your own tax and National Insurance, and for registering with HMRC as self-employed.
- A smartphone
- Jobs, your calendar, and messages to customers all live in the ReadyClean app. You can install it straight from this site — there’s no app store download.
How it works
From applying to getting paid
- ApplyAbout ten minutes. You set your base postcode, how far you’ll travel, and the days and hours you want. No fee, now or ever.
- We verify youWe check your DBS and insurance. If you don’t have them yet, we’ll tell you exactly how to get them.
- Jobs reach youWhen someone inside your radius books a clean that fits your hours, it lands in your portal. You never pay to see it and you never bid for it.
- You review and acceptYou see the job and exactly what you’ll earn before you decide. A job may be offered to more than one cleaner — the first to accept gets it.
- The customer confirmsThey get your profile and confirm the match. Once they do, the booking is yours and the full address, phone number and chat unlock.
- You do the cleanMessage the customer in the app if anything changes. If the job needs longer than booked, you can add the extra time and be paid for it.
- You’re paid on MondayEvery clean you completed the week before, paid straight into your bank. Nothing deducted.
No surprises
What you see before you accept
You decide with the facts in front of you. Every job request shows:
- The date and start time
- How many hours it’s booked for
- Exactly what you’ll earn — hours × £17
- The type of clean and what’s included
- Any add-ons the customer has asked for
- Anything else the customer has told us
On location, we’ll be straight with you. Before you accept you see the area — the town and postcode district — and the customer’s first name. The full address and phone number appear only after you accept and the customer confirms. That protects them, and it’s the same for every cleaner on the platform.
The other half of the deal
What we expect from you
- You don’t have to accept every job. Turn down anything that doesn’t suit you — there’s no penalty and no ranking to protect.
- Once you accept, it’s yours. A customer has arranged their day around you. Turn up on the agreed date and time and do the work properly.
- Keep your availability honest. We only send you jobs that fit the hours you’ve set, so an out-of-date calendar costs you work and wastes a customer’s time.
- Talk to people through the app. Customers and our team are both a tap away, and it keeps a record if anything is ever disputed.
- If something goes wrong, tell us early. Life happens. Use the app to cancel or reschedule as soon as you know — not on the morning.
One thing we won’t pretend: we don’t guarantee a set number of jobs. What you’re offered depends on how many people near you book, the area you chose, and the hours you made yourself available. In a new area that can start slow.
Over time
Build a round of regulars
Most of our customers book weekly or fortnightly cleans. When a customer is happy with you, we keep sending you back to the same home wherever we can. That’s how a handful of one-off jobs turns into a predictable week — the same houses, the same people, and a routine you already know.

Questions cleaners ask us
Do I have to pay for leads or credits?
No. There is no joining fee, no credit pack, no charge per job and no commission taken off your rate. We make our money from what the customer pays us, not from you.
How much will I earn?
£17 an hour, for every hour of a booked clean, paid in full. A three-hour clean pays you £51. If a job needs longer than booked, you add the extra time in the app and you’re paid for that too.
When do I get paid?
Every Monday, straight to your bank, covering every clean you completed the week before. You add your bank details in your portal. If a Monday is a bank holiday, payment lands on the next working day.
Do I need my own equipment and transport?
Yes to both. We tell customers their cleaner brings professional-grade, eco-friendly products and equipment, so you need to be able to deliver that. You also need reliable transport to reach homes across the radius you pick.
Am I employed by ReadyClean?
No. You’re self-employed. You choose which jobs to take, which days you work and how far you travel, and you’re responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. If you haven’t registered as self-employed with HMRC yet, you’ll need to.
Do I have to accept every job?
No. Decline anything that doesn’t suit you — there’s no penalty. But once you accept a job it’s a commitment: the customer has arranged their day around you.
What if I don’t have a DBS or insurance yet?
Apply anyway. Tick the box on the last step and we’ll email you exactly how to get them. We can’t send you work until both are on file, but we’d rather help you get there than lose you at a form.
How much work will I get?
We can’t promise a number, and we won’t. It depends on how many people near you book, the area you chose and the hours you’re free. In an area we’ve just opened it can start slow and build.
